Michael Freund

Michael Freund was born on November 26th, 1951 in Clarksdale, MS. He Passed away on October 12th, 2017 in Conroe, TX. He was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, and of N.E. Louisiana University where he received his Master Degree in Music Education. He was a master Trumpeter and instructor. He was also a beloved band director of Alice ISD, Liberty ISD and Conroe ISD for 39 years where he served at numerous schools in the district. He led his bands to numerous accolades and awards. He was a great inspiration to all of his students, and his legacy continues throughout them today. He was an active member in his church, where he served on the worship team for many years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many of those who loved him. He was proceeded in death by his parents, William Joseph Freund and Ruby Balentine Freund. He is survived by his wife Linda Staley Freund and they were married for 39 years. They had two sons, David (Jennifer) Freund, and Daniel Freund, and his sister Pat Killebrew. He also had three grandchildren, Keaton, Konner, and Addison, and two nephews, Chris and Jon Killebrew. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 17th, 2017 from 5-7pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, TX. Services will be held at Harvest Family Church on Wednesday October 18th, 2017 at 10am with interment following at Garden Park Cemetery.

I am truly sorry to hear about this.  I have known him most of my life.  My prayers are going up for you and your family.  He was a great guy.
